These pictures make it appear as if he hated it, but he was fine...just mad that mom came back and wanted to take a picture rather than take him home.
Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Turner's FIRST babysitter
10/21/09
So, Turner had to be babysat by a none family member so that I could take the family to the airport to see the rest of the family.
These pictures make it appear as if he hated it, but he was fine...just mad that mom came back and wanted to take a picture rather than take him home.
Liz is a family friend of mine that I have known for several years. She was actually one of Amy's nurses when she had Logan. We connected through my mom and her sister as they thought we had a lot in common...the biggest areas of commonality were singleness and love for our niece and nephews. That wasn't really all, but it was really primarily I desire to be married and the fact we were still single. They thought we could encourage each other and apparently it worked since we are still friends and now both married. :)

MSBA Alumni
This year was a great year for a reunion. There were so many people there that it made it hard to visit with everyone, so I was thinking that it could be fun to just set up a recurring picnic that we all can count on. It will allow us to continue to grow the list of alumni contacts and families.
The Squires Park in Westminster is a great park with a beautiful shelter and is cheap to rent for the whole day. We would need someone that lived in Westminster to help us reserve it if we were to do that.
I was thinking that each year we could have a different class be "in charge" of the details of it.
As to funding it, we could put out a collection jar at the picnic that will help fund the next years picnic. It could, at the very minimum, pay for the park.
Here is a poll that I created to get an idea of the weekend that might sound the best for all. With School graduations, family vacations and schools starting up at all different times, I want to get a general consensus before I work to set up the remaining details of this.

Family workday at Joan's
3/28/09
A friend of mine had some projects that she needed help with as she suffers from terrible arthritis, so for our family workday, Torrey and I decided that we would go over there. Our prayer is that she will she Jesus in our lives and come to know Him personally. Please pray with us.

Dinner with the Arrick's
3/9/09
So, the post from yesterday was to have been supper with the Arrick's, but Rick sent me a text to my phone thinking that I was in this century and I am not, so we went over to find no one home, so today we actually had a meal with them after Debbie told Rick to CALL me.

Turner's frist time swimming
We were invited to Elijah's 5th Birthday party and he wanted everyone to go swimming. I was not sure if Turner would like it but thought we would try it out. I figured even if he screamed and we took him right out, it would be nice to see Shannon and Scott and just get out with my husband and son.
It turned out that Turner really did like it. He was splashed when getting into the pool and he did NOT like that so much, but once he was in, he was content to site, cuddle or kick his legs. I am so proud of him. We will definitely have to do that again.
He did get more wet than this...all of his was wet by the time he was out. I even put some on his hair to see what he would think.
I am blessed with a pretty easy-going baby.

Time with Shelley

My friend Shelley came over to visit with me and Turner. Shelley has been a great friend and was once a great boss. I don't think I have ever had one quite as wonderful as her. She believed in me when no one else did...she still does for that matter.
She provided me many opportunities to help me advance in my career. That career has come to an end for this season in my life.

Picture Tag amongst Friends
Well, I have been seeing this show up on many blogs that I read and have found it interesting...this time I was tagged, so here is my photo.
This photo is a picture of my beloved waiting outside the operating room to be allowed admittance to support me and see the birth of our son. In his hand is the blanket my aunt made me when I was a baby and I had asked Torrey to make sure to give it to Turner to be warmed up in something personal rather than the blankets from the hospital.
Here is what you do:
This great photo of Tim ,Callie and Meg :) was taken in Nov. 2004 at Grandma and Grandpa Payne's house. It was Thanksgiving, Katy Korday had just called and said she was engaged!! Our family and the Payne's had spent the night there and had a wonderful holiday. Boy it seems long ago!!!!
Ok, I tag Misti Schindele, Hosanna Hanson, Rebekah Zeerip, Torrey Myers, & Ryan Pazdur. Not all of these have been active in posting these days so I hope that this will get them posting something, but most of all I hope the read this so they know they have been tagged to even post. :)
This is a Picture Tag and here's what the rules were:
Go to your Pictures file
Go to the 5th folder
Open the 5th picture and post it
Tag 5 people when you're done.

A Great friend came to visit

Shannon has been a friend of mine for a long time and after she got married and moved a few times I completely lost contact with her. Not because I wanted to but because I couldn't find her and she never likes to be listed.
This summer I had heard she moved to another town and just thought I would give it a try and see if I could find her. I found a listing and just thought I would give it a try. I was thrilled because it was her on the other end of the line.
We were able to get together with our families and have a meal together. It was at that meal that I mentioned to her that I thought I was pregnant but wasn't sure yet. I think the facts show that I was. :)
Anyway, Shannon has been such a blessing sharing with us her Love-me-downs that will really help us as a family and help Turner the most because it really saves us some money that we can put into other areas.
I am so thankful for friends that you can connect with at any point that do not hold grudges for lost time in the middle.

Baby Shower, September 19th
My family is throwing me/us a shower for our special little boy.
They are doing more of an open house as they know that I like to visit with people but have never been a huge fan of the games and such.
I thought I would share with you what the invitation looks like.
I would love for all of you reading my blog to share a picture with us. :)

Plea for Pictures
I am sending out this request to my friends and family hoping to get your help.
We want to decorate Turner's room will bright faces of those that love us and him. His room has a picture rail all the way around and we want to fill it with YOUR face and the faces of YOUR family.
What we need is a 4x6 picture in landscape orientation to put in the rail. You could either send us the picture in hard copy or send it in digital and we can get it printed.
If you do not have our address or email, please post a comment and I will get it to you. You can find my email in my profile if you go looking.
Thanks for all your help. We really desire for our little boy to grow up seeing all your face and knowing who you are because we share you with him.

Peaceful Backyard
We haven't finished anchoring the gazebo yet as it took me more than thirty minutes to put one anchor into one leg. UFFDA.
We have entertained only a couple times since putting it up. We had another couple over that just recently got married and then for Memorial day, we had my family over. The day was nice until it was time for everyone to come over and then we ended up with rain. It didn't spoil our fun. Mom and I played Badminton in the yard and the guys got a fire going in the pit. It made us long for camping and boy did we smell like he had been camping when it was all over.
Torrey and I enjoy sitting in the backyard and having our meals, taking a nap in the swing, brushing the dogs or just being. It is nice to have a place to go that feels so relaxing. We just pretend that we are in the country as this might be the closest that we get outside of vacations.

Life is Precious

It is times like these where you look at your life and your family and grow to appreciate them so much more.
We are all so blessed to have people that love us, but oh the joy of knowing those you love also love God, follow God and believe in Jesus.
Just yesterday, Jason lost his grandmother. She has been suffering for a few years and just last week she ended up in the hospital and they were told that they didn't think she had a lot of time.
We do not know the condition of her heart and that makes the loss that much greater for all. Our prayers right now are for Jason's family as they do not believe in Jesus.
There is a very influential soul winner in the family that I believe God plans to use in their life. Our little Logan has a BIG heart for God and wants people to know about Jesus. On top of his love for Jesus is his love to care for people.
Pray with us as Jason's family is hurting and they need a Savior.
