I have been so motivated lately to get things checked off my project list and I feel so proud that I am getting them done.
Here are some things that I have been working on:
1 - Putting in new drawer guides in the kitchen because mine were broke (I HATE THAT)
2 - Regrading the backyard (I am sure I will need to do more later, but at least I do not have water sitting next to the house anymore.)
3 - Designing a new look to different parts of my house (I have lived here 8 years and need some new looks in here that says Myers and not just Larson)
4 - Made Strawberry Rhubarb Jam and it was GOOD
5 - Made some Oatmeal bread, it is one of the most moist breads that I make so far.
6 - Designed a "mantle" for my fireplace
7 - Finished laying tile in my bathroom and closet.
8 - Re-installed the toilet after putting down the tile (this is seriously one of the GROSSEST things I have ever done in my life)
9 - Made some Freezer meals
10 - Did some yard work
11 - EXERCISED - I heave been doing pretty well in this area - YEAH
12 - Read 3 books
There is so much more going on, but I just feel thrilled that I am getting some things done. Still so much more to do.
I really have no idea how women work out of the home and still get things done at home. I am so thankful to my husband that he sees the value in me being home with Turner David. It has not always been easy, but I wouldn't trade it. I continue to pray that I will rely on God for His provisions and mercy knowing that I am right where He wants me to be.
Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Decorations for Turner's Room

Well, I decided to try out another project for my sons room. I asked my dad to cut me some pieces of plywood as I wanted to try painting some pictures for his room to incorporate with some fun sayings that I bought.
We have received a lot of dog and bear outfits for Turner and thought we would incorporate that into the room, especially since we have 2 dogs of our own.
I tried to make our dogs into cartoons to hang on the wall with the other cartoons. The black dog is our Elijah (black lab) and the white dog is our Saidee (american eskimo).
I am pretty pleased with how they turned out. Once I get them hung in the room, I will take pictures as this should complete the decor for him. JUST IN TIME, haha.

Finished the Rug

Well, I finally finished the rug for Turner and I hope that it flattens out, if not, it was an experience that was interesting.
I ended up with blisters trying to crochet this.
Harvest Time

I have been going crazy today working and harvesting things.

Cristina was nice enough to pick me up some produce when she was at the farm last week and today I picked peaches from my tree, some tomatoes, a summer squash and some other squash that my produce manager cannot identify.

I have steamed the carrots for freezing, boiled the potatoes for freezing, boiled the tomatoes so I can make stewed tomatoes and tomato soup, I am defrosting some bananas to make baby food, cut up the corn on the cob to freeze, etc...

On top of that I made a yummy lunch to send with Torrey to work...well, I think it is yummy. I haven't tried it but it smelt wonderful.

Myers' Family Name Project
I bought these letters from Hobby Lobby before we got married and finally got around do embellishing them.
I wanted to put some Christian attributes that we desire to be part of our home. We do not claim to be excellent at any of them, but we do want to strive for these in our individual lives as well as our family.

Another project for Turner
When Torrey and I were up in Winter Park at the beginning of August we spent some time looking through scripture to find some attributes that we would like Turner to possess and us to be praying for in his life that would match to his letters in his name. From that we went and associated verses and then I designed a painting that I wanted to do.
I finally got to completing that painting this last week. There is a lot of white space on it and am not certain if I leave it or embellish it, but here it is. Voice your thoughts on it.

My New Project
I remember very fondly my grandma having rag rugs in her house. While her's were nothing to look at and drab in color, they bring me good memories of simple things.
I decided I wanted to try to figure out how to do a rag rug for Turner's room to have the antique, heritage look to things. I was able to acquire all the material from people on freecycle and found some instructions online and began my course.
I did divert a bit as my grandma's rag rugs where the kind wrapped around cording and I decided that I wanted to try crocheting one since that is something I know and doesn't require me to spend any extra money on supplies.
I spent last night cutting the strips of fabric with my little helpers and then after they were down in bed, I started crocheting. Here is where my project is at now and I am liking it so far. The colors are not exact to the room, but that isn't bothering me a ton. Even if I use it for a few days and move it to a new spot, it didn't cost me anything and was fun to do it.

Birth Announcements
I want to get things ready to rock and roll once little Turner makes his debut so I have been designing some announcements that all I will have to do is add the pictures and get them printed and sent.
I thought I would put them up for people to vote on their favorite. I will not guarantee that I will go with the most popular or even that I won't change it somewhere midstream, but this can be fun anyway.
The white spaces will be where I insert photos.

Gardening 101???
Amy was very successful with her garden last year and I thought it would be a great thing to try so that I can make babyfood for our little one.
I am really trying to think ahead and find ways to save money so that we can have me stay home and care for our blessing as well as our
We will set it up so that when I go on maternity leave I can go back to work and possibly be able to negotiate part-time from home. It would be more ideal if we need the extra, but we pray that God can show us how to be faithful with what He has given us and invest in our child like my parents were able to do with me.
I have an interview on Monday to take in an editorial job. It will not pay a lot, but it could be something that pays for the groceries and a bill each month and not take up a lot of time and since I like to be creative and also write, it feels like it could be a good mix. Then if we
If all of that fails, we will consider taking kids into our home since I have a background in ECE and have my directors certificate and love kids, it might be the next best thing.
