Woodglenn Meadows Park

Thornton updated the Woodglen Meadows park in 2012 and it is so much better.  This year (2013) they have updated their sprinkler systems, so beware.  The minute you think you can have a picnic or a day of kickball, you might get wet.  We have tried having 2 events there at different times of the day and both times the sprinklers came on and got us wet and at multiple times that same day.

Hopefully by next year, they will have the sprinklers on a better rotation.  I am guessing they are doing so much watering to fill in all the dirt patches from the new sprinkler lines.

This park isn't the best for tiny people.  They do have infant swings, but the rest of the equipment really isn't suited for them.

There has been a port-o-potty on sight all summer.  Not sure when they will remove it or if they will remove it.  As of today, it is still there.

Midway Park

Big Dry Creek Park

1700 West 128th Avenue

Park Amenities
Soccer Fields/Multi-Use Fields
2 Baseball Fields
Playground
Parking
Dog Park
Two Picnic Shelters
Paths
Walking Paths
Porta-potties

I have an affinity to this park as this is the very FIRST park that I ever took Turner to.

It is a pretty good sized park.  It has swings, sandbox and lots to climb on.  I wouldn't say that it is the best for toddlers as the structures are quite large, but there are things that you can do with them if you have older kids that just need to let off some steam.

Since it is a newer park, there are not a lot of adult trees, so bring your  sunblock and shade as the shelters fill up pretty quick in the evenings and weekends.

Since it isn't the best toddler park, the rating is lower.  I have a toddler so look for safe parks for him.  We still will go here, but this isn't one we let him wander on his own like he likes to do.

Sensory Park, Westminster, CO - 4 1/2 Giraffes

Turner and I are going to try to hit as many parks this summer to help us find some of our favorites.

Today we went to Sensory Park in Westminster (10376 Wadsworth Blvd) and I loved what I saw.  The only real downfall was that they didn't have a toilet of any kind and would have loved more trees.  I am hoping that with the spring coming that the trees that surround it will put off enough shade to solve the one issue that I have.  The toilet issue, I can overcome for my son by bringing a potty chair with me, but for a pregnant lady, that will not do.  Target is just a walk away, so that will make it a little easier.

Another perk is that if anyone gets hurt, it is just right next to Childrens.  Here is a link to some great pictures and information.

Some of the favs of the park:
- sand table
- lots of sand
- water fountain (wasn't on right now, but betting it will be)
- covered picnic tables
- road for bikes, tricycles, scooters, roller blades
- creek near by for exploring
- path for walking
- music area
- bridges
- safe for toddlers
- 3 different types of swings
- basket for throwing balls into
- I am sure there is more that I don't remember

Here is a map to the Sensory park and in the future, I will try to take pictures of the area for those that might actually be reading this and there may be none, but this can be a brain for me so I can remember what I like.
