What do you hold dear?

We live in a society that lacks for almost nothing. We have become a society that shows the truth of Matthew 19:24 where it says, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." When we have all things at our disposal, what do we need to trust God for in our life?

We can live our life totally trusting in the comforts of our life. If they were to be gone tomorrow, how would you think differently of the comfort that only God can bring? Would you find yourself becoming angry that all was taken, or would you cling to Christ who promises to take care of us?

If you look over your life and take inventory over the great blessing you have, what would be on your list? Would you find on your list the creature comforts of society or would you find things like: salvation, church, family, friends, the Resurrection, service to Christ?

God is great to give us gifts that consist of the creature comforts of society, but do we really need them? Are you using the comforts of society to minister to others? All things we have been given can be used to serve God. Do not horde them in such a way as to keep from sharing the blessing with others. God does not call us to live unto ourselves. We are to love our neighbor.

I know that loving our neighbors can be very hard. I have some very hard neighbors and they make it so it is very difficult to love them, but it doesn't matter what they do, God is bigger than they are and I am called to love them.

Just think about the gifts you have been given and think about that even when they are gone, we STILL belong to God. That is something to hang onto and be excited about.

Change your direction on what you cling to if you look to things more than God. There is nothing that they can do for you if they burn up. God has proven through the Resurrection, that He is here to stay. Cling to what is true.
