How often do you feel alone?

This year has been a year of lots of valleys and struggles. It is amazing in times like that we can allow ourselves to wallow and be certain we are all alone.

I was sitting here tonight just wondering about things and wanting to just be done. "What difference does it make?" is what I was asking myself.

I decided to open a Bible that belonged to my grandmother and just see what things had stood out to her and allow God's thoughts and Grandma's thoughts to maybe help me.

The first verse I read was Joshua 1:9 - Be strong and of good courage; be not agraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

That verse does not imply being alone at all. Amazing how sin can shade our eyes and cause our perspective to be so swayed to incorrect thinking, but PRAISE God that He takes us right where we are and will offer us nice and gentle nudges or swift kicks depending on what is needed.

Are you allowing yourself to think too much and trust your wisdom or are you seeking God to direct you appropriately?

Striving and stretching is hard to do. We are so fallen and desiring to control every aspect that we forget to let God direct us. He will do that you know.

If you feel alone, just remember the words in Joshua and let go of yourself and focus on the one that can change you and help you best.

  1. In our society where independence is valued so much it can be very hard to remember that we need to be God dependant. This is something we need to constantly be reminding ourselves about.
