How big is your God?

Have you ever thought that by hours of studying you will someday comprehend God? What a small God we would have if we, as finite beings, could actually walk away fully understanding Him.

As Romans 3: 7-11 tells us, there is none that understand. If God has told us that we will not understand, why do we feel so full of ourselves and self-impressed that we would even try to think that we will grasp everything about Him?

Since God tells us that we will not understand, does that give us license to not try to understand? Absolutely not! As 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us, we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.

How can we stand up for what is blatantly against Scripture if we are not spending time learning it? We need to make sure we can see false teachings that are in front of us. We need to make sure we are protecting our hearts from being drawn into sin.

We do serve a big God. Don't try to make Him be so small that you think you can comprehend all things about Him. Eternity will reveal so much to us about our great God. Hang onto the knowledge of someday.
